Winscombe’s thriving high street saw a touch of the extraordinary this past weekend as Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, the celebrated designer and TV personality hot out of the Bear Hunt, made a grand entrance to mark the launch of a brand-new ‘Quintessential’ kitchen showroom display at idesign Interiors.

The event was a dazzling success hosted by owner and designer Louise Mitchell and her business partner Adam Wood, a kitchen installer and cabinet maker, drawing over 40 guests for an afternoon of design inspiration, lively conversation, and a genuinely memorable unveiling.

Louise has firmly established idesign interiors as a key part of the Winscombe community and has long advocated for bold and innovative interiors. Her showroom has become a go-to destination for those seeking bespoke kitchen and home solutions, and Saturday’s event reinforced her reputation as a trailblazer in the industry.

The occasion was nothing short of fabulous. Guests arrived to a warm welcome, complete with canapés and fizz, setting the scene for what would be a stylish and intimate gathering. Laurence, never one to shy away from the spotlight, arrived in signature flamboyant fashion, exuding charisma as he greeted attendees. His enthusiasm for design was infectious as he introduced guests to the Quintessential Kitchens collection, focusing on the standout Kitchen Disco range—the first to be displayed in the UK.

During his vision talk, Laurence elaborated on the philosophy behind the collection, emphasising the importance of bringing theatrical elegance into everyday living spaces. “Kitchens should be glamorous, expressive, and unapologetically fabulous,” he declared to the audience’s delight.

The event had a distinctly personal feel, with Laurence taking time to engage in one-on-one conversations, answer questions, and pose for photos with guests.

Adding to the event’s prestige, several local interior designers and industry insiders attended, eager to see Kitchen Disco up close. With its vibrant aesthetic, opulent textures, and dazzling finishes, the range is set to redefine how homeowners think about kitchen design.

For Louise, the event was a culmination of years of dedication to her craft and her community. “Having Laurence here to launch this display is a huge milestone for us,” she shared. “Winscombe is such a special place, and we’re thrilled to bring this level of design to our high street.”

The excitement doesn’t stop here. idesign interiors will now take the glamour to a national stage as they exhibit alongside Laurence at the Ideal Home Show 2025, held at Olympia London from 21 March – 6 April. Visitors to Stand H375 will have the chance to see a highlight of the Quintessential Kitchens range and experience the House of Llewelyn-Bowen showcase—a celebration of bold, beautiful interiors.

Saturday’s launch proved that Winscombe is more than just a picturesque village; it’s a destination for cutting-edge design. With Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen’s seal of approval and Louise Mitchell’s expert eye for interiors, idesign interiors are set to remain at the forefront of the industry for years to come.
